Holdings of Irish Long-Term Government Bonds Publication date: 5 June 2025 Key Points: The nominal value outstanding of government bonds was €140.6 billion at the end of December 2024. Within the next five years, €49.6 billion of government bonds will mature. Estimated non-resident holdings was €71.5 billion at the end of December. Credit Institutions and the Central Bank account for the largest amount of Irish-resident holdings, at €63.8 billion. This equates to 92.3 per cent of the resident total.
